The float tank is responsible for providing a constant supply of water to the pump. At the same time it serves as a break in the line between the water inlet and the pump in order to prevent detergent from entering the main supply network if fault occurs.
When the float valve is opened, water passes from the inlet into the float tank.
As the water level rises, the float is lifted up until the float valve is eventually closed.
The characteristics of the pump (rotational speed, piston diameter, piston stroke) determine whether a sleeve should be fitted into the outlet from the float tank. If the sleeve is fitted, the pump generates an increased vacuum in the supply line to the pump. This vaccum is necessaryso that detergent is drawn in whenever the metering valve is opened.
If the sleeve is not fitted or when water is taken in from an open tank, the vaccum is considerably smaller so that or no detergent is taken in. |
